Genuine curiosity: how do IPs work? Do you have an IP for your computer vs iPhone? What happens if you log in at home vs Starbucks?

Where I have trouble with blocking is that the person who is blocked would know. I mean, if you can't see a thread that another person started but you could see it if you logged out, you know you are blocked. That's a little weird, I think. If you want to create an exclusive group, go to Facebook and create a group there, and you can control the members.

I think it's a great idea! I've noticed some cattiness over the past few days and as a result haven't posted a few things I was curious about. There seem to be a few people who are interested in arguing that the sky is orange when someone else says it's blue and I don't want to get caught up in that. I really appreciate the vast majority of the advice/commiseration here but I think being able to hide posts from certain users who just want to pick a fight would make HB even better!

It seems like this could work as a gold feature, so you could block someone from seeing your gold threads. Then even if they logged out, they couldn't see who created the gold threads. Not sure how you could easily block them from seeing your regular threads though because of the log-out issue others have mentioned.
