When I'm going back into a post to see what new responses have been added to a topic I'm interested in but don't want to subscribe to, it can get lengthy and I scroll down past the header. With the new graying out feature of threads you've read, you have to click onto the boards link at the top of the page or refresh the page once you've hit back to see the thread grayed out. That can be a lot of scrolling (maybe it is just me) on very lengthy threads. Perhaps a link a the bottom of a thread that is a scroll to top link?

I was JUST coming to the suggestion board to suggest a Scroll to Top icon, similar to the one in Pinterest. Maybe we're all just lazy, but when I'm at the bottom of the thread, it feels like it takes forever to get back to the top!

@mrbee: I like the "tape" look of so many of the headers. Maybe once you scroll past the header (no longer in the view of the page) a small one pops up on the lower right (along the white center piece) with the "tape" look going vertical rather than horizontal (wiggly edges at the top rather than the side) and says something simple like "scroll to top". I'm sure there is more technical terminology what I'm trying to convey.

@mrbee: are you familiar with pinterest? It's simply a little tab that stays toward the bottom of the screen, and when you click it it brings you to the top of the screen.
I like Pelikila's idea of the "tape" look!

@Mrs. Pen: The Pinterest scroll to top tab is pretty big, so they don't actually show it on mobile devices (as far as I can tell)... that's why we haven't implemented something along those lines!
We're hoping for a solution that could work on both computers and mobile devices. Will think some more about the neat suggestion from @pelikila!

@mrbee: if it would be too difficult to program, instead of having a scroll to top button, would it be possible to reproduce the "blog/boards/dads/etc." banner at the bottom of the page as well? It would allow access to return to the main board once I have finished reading a thread without having to scroll all the way to the top which can be a pain when viewing HB using a mobile device.

@mrbee: Would it be possible to have it below the last post, above the reply box? You probably don't want it to go across the page and mess up the bar in the right though. Maybe you could use smaller font and maken it a shorter bar?

Above the reply box... would that get in the way of people trying to comment on posts?

@mrbee: hm... possibly? I don't think it would get in my way if it were a small bar. There is a white bar above the reply box right now so something that would fit in that space wouldn't bother me. Perhaps that is not aesthetically pleasing though. Maybe it would look best below the yellow footer ribbon.

I put it right about the reply box. I don't think it would get in the way because it isn't even in the blue part of the reply box. I like the style of the reply box too, so a "tab" like that maybe in yellow?

@mrbee: After a person posts, hers is at the very bottom. How about a tab-y type button (where the page numbers will show if the thread is really long one) and says "Back to top"...And if you press it, it'll take you to the very first page to the original poster.

I like on Pinterest where it follows you down the page, so if you are in the middle and want to scroll up..you don't have to scroll to the bottom to see the button.
Style wise, I like the yellow "Submit a Guest Blog!" Hellobee button shape. Or the Washi tape look that the bloggers user on their pictures.
