I think it would be wonderful to be able to search for people based on where they are located (if they disclose that information)! It would make planning meetups and such very easy since you could just tag everyone.

@zippylef: Right now, anyone can type in anything into their Location field... would we keep it that way, and then run a full text search? Would worry that wouldn't really work...
Or would we switch to pulldowns for location?

Im not really sure. Maybe input locations on a map? That could be kind of cool, but probably more work that it's worth (for you guys).
I don't think pulldowns would be a bad idea. Would you just stick to major metro areas within each state? Or divide each state by region (like, northwest KS, Northeast KS, Southwest, Southeast, central)? I don't know.... maybe start thread on the main forums and see what the bees think? I know some are sensitive about privacy, so maybe adding a "Rather not say" option or just being able to click a state and nothing else would be a good thing to talk about.

@zippylef: I worry about the privacy issues around making it easier to browse by location... but feel free to post to the boards about the idea!
