This has likely been suggested and replied to, but it'd be really nice to be able to delete a comment. It doesn't happen often, but as an example, I once made what I thought was a helpful suggestion to someone and got a catty, negative reply back. I then didn't want to have my comment on her post, but it felt like jumping through a lot of "hoops" to have to email Mr. or Mrs. Bee to ask that it be removed. Wondering why we can't control the ability to erase our own comments?

We've considered making the deletion feature self-service, but haven't gotten many requests for that recently. We'll definitely keep it in mind!
There are two questions that I'd love everyone's collective feedback on:
* Should there be a limit on the number of comments you can delete?
* Should you be able to delete only comments, or also entire threads that you've started...

@mrbee: Thanks, Mr. Bee. I'm actually surprised that others haven't expressed much interest in wanting to delete a comment! Maybe I'm the only one who makes posting snafus:-).
My opinion on your questions is that you should be able to delete both comments as well as threads you've started. I'm not just talking about for threads gone awry...an example might be if you make a post and then realize there have been many other posts on it and want to take it down because you feel silly for having asked it again (not that I've done that or anything!
). Anyway, thanks for answering, especially on Father's Day Eve when you should be relaxing instead of working!

@ChiCalGoBee: oh I should mention that we also allow unlimited requests to close a thread!! That can be a good way to handle a thread gone awry or a thread that's already been asked...

@ChiCalGoBee: you can edit your post for 3 hours after you publish - so if you are in that time line you can delete it -
