Would it be possible to add some indication to a user's profile that their account has been deactivated? I know I've visited a few people's walls to message them, but then just never hear back and don't know what happened to them (only to find out from someone else that they had deactivated it). It would be nice if their profile gave some sort of indication so that people aren't left to wonder about them.

@Adira: We're considering doing this, but some people have asked that their deactivated profile give no indication that it's been shut down. So it's a bit tricky, and we're thinking through how to best serve both groups of members.

@mrbee: I was actually wondering that too, if for privacy reasons people might not want there to be an indication. Thanks for the quick response!

We now indicate when accounts have been shutdown:

We considered making it optional, but it started to get too complicated so we just made all shutdown profiles show message.
