If a member is a parent, they should be able to add their kids to their profile page... along with the ages of their kids.
EDIT: This information may also appear next to each post made by a particular user, or in a popup that appears when you mouseover someone's avatar.

This would be awesome. I keep trying to look through everyone's posts to see if they have kids and how old they are. I think it is important to know this info when reading a user's comments.

I agree this is a great suggestion. While reading through posts and comments, I like to know where the advice is coming from.
It would be great if next to each name, a few details showed up such as:
Son/Daughter/Baby/Child/StepChild (if you didn't want to disclose sex of child)
Age (is there a way for HB to calculate this based on an entered birth month/year?)
*Profile would be able to accommodate multiple children (maybe up to 4?)
Also if no children yet - TTC status (maybe someone can suggest what should go here? Should there be a length listed, such as cycle #10 or something?)

We would probably have both age (from the birthdate) and gender for each child.
Bio/Step/Adopted statuses for each child feels very tricky and sensitive.
Anything involving cycles is outside the scope of this suggestion... maybe post another suggestion about that?

LOVE the idea of adding kids and their b-day/age. Also, you could have it so that pregnant bees could put in their due date next to one of the "children"

Yes, sounds like a great idea. But I wouldn't limit it to four, I'll bet there are some here who have more than that, especially ones with bonus children.

For example, two moms posted today about sleep issues and feeding issue. My advice is very different for a 12 week old versus a 12 month old and its a pain to have to ask them to clarify their LO's ages.

I would love this feature! I'm constantly forgetting ages of LO's. I think it would be great if it was underneath the gold/fruit/posts like @mrstiz mentioned. or if you hover over the user's avatar. I have also seen this as a signature line on some other forums.

This would be great! It's nice to know kids ages when people are making suggestions on things, answering questions, etc. it would just help you know their perspective on things. Plus, it's fun! It would be particularly good as a "hover" thing attached to the avatar just for accessibility.

I would vote that the "hover" idea isn't really practical because so many of us are posting from our phones and there isn't a way to "hover" when using a mobile site.

I always sangho know how old kids are when reading, as it changes the relevancy of their response. For example, today someone posted a question about where your toddler eats. Toddlers develop a lot while still being called toddlers. I wonder when reading the responses if some of the kids are a lot older or younger than my LO. I often try to include my LO's age when responding to posts, to help others like me.

@T.H.O.U.: We could potentially make it so that when you're using a touch browser, the first touch brings up the little hover profile... and the second touch acts like a click and brings you to the actual profile.
